This topic may also be not so popular with girls! 50th Birthday Bash in 15. Most of us will touch 50 next year. Some will touch in 2016 and some already had the bash. In the TRUE spirit of the group let us do something special. Brand it 50 in 15!
We can also kick it with associated topics like health, getting youthful, naughty in the fifties......
The urge to prove we are young will surely surface. When you are young you don't have to prove that
Giving the topic is easy and now look forward to all the brains to contribute to the topic
Cheers for 50 in 15!

Firstly, the planned Dubai Meet is about celebrating half a century. Hopefully, it will be the joint celebration of 50 in 15 for all those who make it.
Apart from this, how do I want to go about this individually?
I have not celebrated any birthday in the last many years except in the office colleagues insist on drink in the evening giving us an excuse.
This is what Sowmya said to me on my fortieth birthday. Rather she was clarifying. “Dad, now that you are forty, you are no longer middle age?”
You can imagine how it immediately flattened me!
At fifty, I think the mantra will be reassuring ourselves that we have not entered in to another 'age' or something. Perhaps, we must mark it with some kind of activity if not celebration to reinforce that. I don’t know what that is. But your topic has kicked off that and so I will work on it based on inputs from others as well.

For me it will be 50 in '14. My Five-O will be coming up later this year.
Aging is a natural process; but Aging gracefully requires conscientious effort and care.
1. Keep reminding yourself to look and feel young. Try out new hair-styles, different wardrobes, etc.
2. Although there may have been many troubling times, instill optimism by convincing yourself that there were more positives in your life than negatives.
3. Make time for yourself to do the things you loved to do when you were 15. These moments certainly rejuvenate you.
4. Simply let yourself GO once in a while.
5. A good sense of humor goes a long way...
I hope that we all continue to feel 15 in 50 (2050)!!

- Should we take the time to re-read and genuinely fill-out the latest version of 'What color is your Parachute?' to take stock of wins-losses; likes-dislikes; strengths-weaknesses and other self-attributes. (I did this out of graduate school when trying to determine which professional track to take.)
- Should the balance shift from 60-40 outside feedback vs internal compass to 40-60?
- 75% rule. Everything at 75% speed! Eat 75% of food. (At age 60 we bring it down to 50%?)
- Are our emotions like a sinusoidal curve (ie go up and down around the mean), except that the amplitude is decreasing with time?
- We are in a position to savor each experience better?
- Not just spouse, but also children roll their eyes when they hear you bring up your old favorite story that they have heard 'N' number of times?
- We can possibly see and visualize age 75. Can we see age 100? (and what it takes to get there...)
- We are counting down instead of counting up? (Thus more alive to preciousness of time)
-- We feel like youth is wasted in young people? (B. Shaw)
- Joke:
Say this to a young man, 'if you run 50 meters fast I will give you a prize'! Young man: ok!
Say the same to a 50 year old. They might reply: I will give YOU a prize. You run!
