Travelogue by Krishnan
I had a crazy "road" experience in Bihar. I went to a surface coal mine in West Bokaro to Tata Steel mines. In the evening, we were coming back to Ranchi. The Maruti Omni was travelling on the unpaved roads of the Coal mines ( rather roads graded with a Grader ). At any point of time only 3 wheels of the car was on the road. It was becoming dark, and this area is notorious for dacoits.
My friend and myself took out our credit card and some small cash and put it inside our socks. The rest of the money we kept in the purse and decided to handover this to the dacoits in case they came.
After a long journey lasting 1 hour we finally reached the highway and then reached a NOT SO SAFE Ranchi.
Whew!
A sigh of relief after we reached the hotel. We came to know the next day that the hotel that we were staying in belongs to a local thug whose writ runs in Ranchi. What a situation.
